Full Stack Web Developer – ASP/VBS/.NET/SQL Server/IIS 583 views

Our Technology desk is recruiting a Senior full stack Web Developer to join their global development team.

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to develop and sustain web-based applications and maintain other functional products throughout the company’s systems. In addition to working on in-house web based application development you will also be required to support and develop interfaces to integrate the company’s solutions with customer applications.

The Role:

Your responsibilities will entail technical analysis of the business, managing projects including documentation and supporting internal stakeholders and customers.

The position reports to the Manager of Application development and will involve:

Being a part of the Software development lifecycle (SDLC) for complex web-based applications, understanding business requirements and translating them to meaningful technical specifications and communicating the scope of the project.

In addition, you will take ownership of projects from the technical perspective, have the ability to solve-problems in a creative manner and demonstrate the ability to think critically.

You will manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively prioritizing to meet deadlines; able to hand-code and debug without advanced development tools or environment; learn, utilize and interface with third party systems, tools, APIs, etc. as needed; work with database driven Classic ASP and/or VB programming.

The ideal Candidate: Qualifications & Requirements

Extensive experience and comfort level programming applications with a high level of data accuracy and integrity, relational complexity, and interdependency

Experience with testing, debugging, and software technical support

Web Services and ETL (XML, SOAP, RSS, REST, JSON, APIs, etc.)

Solid competence and familiarity with HTML, Visual Basic (Script or C-sharp acceptable), SQL, JavaScript, CSS, ASP (classic/.Net), various browser differences

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred

6 – 12 years’ application development experience both desktop and database-driven Web applications; system integrations; front & back-end applications

Demonstrated experience in ASP, VB Scripting, ASP.Net, JavaScript, SQL Server and Application Server (IIS, Apache Tomcat etc..).

The incumbent must be technically competent with application development, someone who can autonomously function as a developer and do critical analysis despite the toolset or environment.

Sound understanding of and the ability to manipulate and translate data using ETL tools. The candidate must be able to determine how to take a list of data points handed to him/her and turn the data into some other usable form, rather than only being familiar with how to use a tool that is capable of taking a list of data points and turning the data into some other usable form.

Excellent hands-on experience in debugging, code-writing, problem-solving and testing.

Confident and strong English communications skills within all levels of an organization, both verbally and in print

You must have the ability to communicate effectively and be articulate with strong command over English given that you will be liaising with native English speakers.

Server/OS skills preferred: IIS Admin, SQL Server Admin, Application Scripting, SEO/Webmastering
